Although I enjoyed reading the book because I'm a big Beatles fan, it was way above my 4-year-old granddaughter's comprehension. I bought it with her in mind because she loves the song. She's just too young to understand the clever word play involved and she thought the Blue Meanies were kind of scary. I'll set it aside and maybe we'll try again when she's older.
After I introduced my 7 year old to the movie, (she LOVED it btw), I wanted to get her the book so she can pull it out to read anytime. I'm glad I did. This book is one of the most read ones in our house. The colors and prints are beautiful. It comes with a dust jacket. It's a cute abridged version of the movie. We have the eBook version too, which is semi animated with sounds. Highly recommend!
Bought this for my 3 year old daughter who has adopted my love of the Beatles. She loves it and it has helped her want to learn more about the Beatles and their song lyrics. We read it most nights before bedtime. She now knows the words by memory and reads along with me.
