It's been a long time since I've seen anything like that. I really wanted to recreate the magical experience I had for people today. A designer and artist, David Kalvitis has a fine arts degree from Syracuse University where he studied editorial design, painting and photography. He has operated a graphic design business in Upstate New York since 1987. David is a lifelong fan of puzzles and games of all kinds, and has spent many hours both playing games and designing them. This is the perfect Dot-to-Dot for adults (I'm in my late 20s)!!! I looked at some others that had nearly 1000 dots and that looked downright stressful!! I was looking for something fun to occupy my brain while at the beach. This has a good variety of numbers of dots plus a little different dot game. It's nearly impossible to figure out the picture until you're at least 1/2 way done, which makes it much more fun! I do mine in pencil, then go back over it with a colored marker. This really makes the picture pop! The dots and numbers are just the right size and just the right distance from each other, so they're easy (mostly) to find and to draw to.
I got this for my 11 year old kid that doesn't like anything that involves a pencil and paper. We started off looking for dot-to-dots that I could print off the computer, apparently they were too easy for him. He said that he wanted dot-to-dots that he didn't know what the pictures were until he was done. We found this gem of a dot-to-dot book and decided to give it a try. It doesn't cost too much, so I figured if he didn't like it, no biggie. HE LOVES this book and after 3 days he's completed almost all the dot-to-dots. The great thing about this book is, it requires him to read the directions and to work slowly! We are off to buy book #2
This is a more advanced Dot to Dot book that your standard 1 to 25 type of dot to dots. It also helps improve the quality of your dot to dotting (because apparently quality work on dot to dots matter, HA!) Has some pretty involved dot to dots and some not so standard dot to dot puzzles to do.My 6 year old is really enjoying this book and it has actually helped him develop some better fine motor skills. I'm really impressed with this dot to dot book as it is challenging him while allowing him to do what he loves.
I'm a senior, and I got this book for me. Also different ones for two grandkids, 8 & 9. We've all enjoyed them,, they manage the 4 digit numbers just fine. I make mistakes once in a while, so I got a bottle of whiteout for that. If the numbers are too small get an inexpensive jewelers' Head magnifier. I don't need one for this but I see by the reviews many do. I use one to thread my sewing machine. I prefer this to coloring books, but you definitely can color these pages. Many say they're doing dot-to-dot for relaxation. That's just one of the reasons I like them. I can do them while I listen to TV... I have a tall surface, so sometimes I stand and work puzzles... Better for us seniors.
Bought this for my Stepson, he's 18, autistic and functions at a 3rd grade level; 5th grade math. I bought him the more difficult dot to dot (600 -800 numbers) and he was able to do it but would become frustrated because it took him a good 30 minutes to sit there trying to find the numbers. It took US literally 10 minutes to find number 1. The pictures are extremely detailed.This book, The Greatest Dot-to-Dot Original is absolutely perfect. The hardest picture goes up to about 270. It's not overwhleming with numbers everywhere because there is no background filler; for example, there's just a squirrel as opposed to the squirrel sitting in a tree eating an acorn. But it's also not too babyish.Perfect way to keep an autistic or any child entertained. When my 13 year old daughter saw it she wanted one too.I also recommend the Suduko books. Start with beginner level or just 1-6 numbers. They pick it up very quickly.
The book I am sure will be fun for my child, BUT they shipped it in a manilla shipping envelope which was then folded in half to shove in my mail box because there was no indication to 'not bend' the package. This resulted in a badly creased binding that I have yet to be able to flatten out. I expect we will have to cut out the pages as he wants them to make it doable.
Love this book. It was delivered on Sunday and it's now Wednesday and I've completed the book. I can't wait to get more of these!! Kudos to the creator, very great job. Another reason I like this book compared to others is that you can't see what it will be beforehand, and I really like the element of surprise
This is one product that I was afraid that I might not like. Boy, was I ever wrong! I am so glad that I started with the first book because it guides you along in the adult Dot-to-Dot process. This is a totally engrossing activity, but I can do it while I am listening to a book on tape or even watching a TV program (as long as you are prepared to miss things now and then.) And I do find it stress relieving. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it for just plain fun.
