We received this book as a gift - GREAT!!!!! I was expecting a not-so-easy hardcover manual of sorts with hundreds of pages, dreading it!We are so pleasantly surprised. The first thing that stood out was that Mr. Pote (author) has had multiple decades of hands-on experience. It's immediately evident that he loves what he does and takes pride in not only providing you with information, but the information is reliable and truthful with proven results.We are not professionals, simply homeowners that love to beautify our property. We don't have an "open purse" and are not supportive of a multitude of harsh chemical used by most landscape/lawn businesses. This book can actually save you money. We have fallen prey to recommended services and treatments that were not needed, but very expensive over time. Many of these "treatments" can be harmful to our water supply after run-off, cause severe allergies in humans, worsen lung/respiratory conditions in people already compromised AND can make your beloved's dogs sick. Remember, dogs are outside a lot and absorb these horrible chemicals through their paws! Research has shown a direct correlation between harsh pesticides/chemical treatments and cancer in caninesThis book is actually fun! It's very well-written and enjoyable and simple to follow. It's evidenced-based and without all the unnecessary FLUFF!Several people we know also have it and are so impressed!!I hope the author writes additional books!!
